THE LEARNING VILLAGE @ Sacred Mountain Sanctuary welcomes your collaboration as we rise to meet the greatest human need of the 21st century - the need to learn from our living earth, its community of life, and allow it to guide our participation in the vast intelligence of the biosphere...

Why does The Learning Village need an Annual Campaign?

Because IT TAKES A VILLAGE to support a healthy, diverse learning community at TLV, and to maintain an affordable, sliding-scale fee schedule that is attuned to the diverse economic needs of both current and potential TLV families. When a family is called to enroll their child at TLV,  we do all we can to offer access to our programs, regardless of economic circumstances.

Our sliding scale fees cover only a portion of our operating costs.  Rather than increasing our fees to cover our annual budgetary needs, we choose instead to engage the Spirit of Giving within our learning and extended community, and work to develop and refine the supportive cottage industries that operate at Sacred Mountain Sanctuary.

How do I determine my level of support for TLV, or ask others  for their support?

The answer to this query lives inside you, and rather than prescribing specific pathways, we ask all TLV families and friends to deeply contemplate and recognize the many ways that our program nourishes and supports their child and family.  We offer the following heart-centered questions to assist you as you engage your own inner process of recognition.  Allow your answers to these questions to guide your conversations with others as you invite their participation:

How does my child (niece, grandchild, young friend) express his/her passion, eagerness, joy for his/her learning experiences at TLV?

How do the faculty at TLV strive to embody compassion, wisdom, and understanding of the children’s specific needs?

How does the magic and beauty of Sacred Mountain Sanctuary touch my heart each time I attend a festival or TLV gathering?

How has my family’s participation at TLV extended our family’s community of support, enriched our sense of belonging?

How can I reciprocate in a way that reflects my recognition of this value, while honoring my family’s economic comfort?

Who else - grandparents, aunties, uncles, friends - can I invite to offer a gift in support of my child’s learning journey at TLV?

Beyond a monetary gift, how can I more livingly support TLV and engage a deeper sense of belonging to TLV’s community of life and learning?

How do I participate and reciprocate?

Once you’ve contemplated the above questions, please consider one of the following 3 ways of giving… Seeding, Seasonal, Growing.  Contact Nicole Almeida or Septimbor Lim to arrange your gift.  You may also submit payment for your gift via PayPal, by clicking on the button above.

A Seed Gift is an option for those whose financial circumstances may be limited or inconsistent. Whether the amount is $5, $50, or $5,000, the gesture and intention will support our Village in practical and invisible ways. Gifts can be given via check or online payment.

A Seasonal Gift is suggested for those who are comfortable making a commitment to nourish our Village in a seasonal cycle of 4 gifts per annum.  Nature’s mathematical magic is present in the suggested amounts of these gifts: $111, $333, $555, $888.  Gift fulfillment will be prompted by an invoice at each solstice and equinox.  You may submit the gift amount via check or online payment.

A Growing Gift represents an individual or organization's ongoing commitment to support TLV with a perpetual gift.  We welcome the gift to continue for as long as the giver feels inspired to help us grow TLV programs. Growing Gifts are given once annually, in amounts exceeding $1,000.  Gifts can be given via check or online payment.

Can I claim my gift as a tax deduction?

Yes, absolutely! We are a 501c3, so all gifts are tax deductible.

Where does TLV receive other economic support?

TLV practices an emergent form of reciprocal economics, whereby program fees are one of several other resource streams that nourish TLV programs.  Our goal is to achieve a three-fold economic support system, within which TLV programming fees, income from on-site cottage industries, and gifts/donations are equitably balanced to create a healthy, flowing ‘economy-as-ecology’.  In keeping with the impulse of three-folding, we are striving to expand our community of support, gift campaign relationships, and to develop the supportive industries that operate at SMS and TLV- including cabin rentals, land leases to partner programs, biodynamic, herbal, and value-added farm products, and handicrafts.  Diversified income streams help non-profits to create longevity and strength.
